Family-owned WA building company that is about to celebrate 40 years in WA has been named one of Australia's best places to work for the third year running
Myaree-based Summit Homes Group is the only company with its headquarters in WA and the sole homebuilder to make the Over 100 Employees National list, as judged by the most recent Best Places to Work Study.
Summit Homes Group Managing Director David Simpson said the company ranked ninth in its category.
“When people genuinely enjoy their job, they produce high-quality work, so we are continually focused on creating a great place to work for our employees, which we’ve seen lead to a fantastic result for WA home buyers,” he said.
Summit Homes Group also took part in the independent workplace assessment – called the Trust Index Assessment and Employee Survey – earlier this year and has been recognized for its excellence in leadership in employee programs, communication and open-door management.
Its new $20 million headquarters is also due to open early in the New Year.
“We want to provide the best facilities for our employees to perform at their best, so deciding to invest in a total overhaul of our premises is something we have prioritized,” Mr Simpson said.
“We have over 320 employees who are part of the ‘Summit Family’ and we know that a great place to work builds great places to live, so our win is actually a win for the community.”

Of its 212 employees surveyed earlier this year, a massive 92 per cent said they felt the company was a great place to work .
All staff receive on-the-job training and a number of employees are completing higher education for free.
Online interactive and collaborative tools allow colleagues to mix and communicate in an open forum.
The company offers wellness programs and flexible work structures with allowances for part time and maternity leave arrangements.
The Best Places to Work win caps of an impressive 38 other accolades won by the group in the past 12 months, including 2017 Master Builders-Bankwest Housing Excellence Awards Western Australia Project Builder of the Year and Best Customer Service for Metro and South West.
